Age limitations on commitment of child to state facility for detention of children and to private institution.


1.

If a delinquent child is less than 12 years of age, the juvenile court shall not commit the child to a state facility for the detention of children.

2.

If a delinquent child is 12 years of age or older, the juvenile court shall not commit the child to a private institution.
