Effect of final ordinance to dissolve district included within boundaries of incorporated city.

If a final ordinance of dissolution is adopted pursuant to NRS 318.492:

1.

The merger of the district is effective on July 1 of the year next following the date the incorporation of the city becomes effective.

2.

The city shall assume the obligations and functions of the district.

3.

Any outstanding and unpaid tax sale or levy and any special assessment lien of the district is valid and remains a lien upon the property against which it is assessed or levied until paid, subject to the limitations of liens provided by general law. Any tax or special assessment paid after the effective date of the merger must be placed in the general fund of the city.

4.

The city council of the city has the same power to enforce the collection of any special assessment or outstanding tax sales of the district as the district would have had if it had not been merged.
