Establishment of standards for receipt of federal money and programs concerning juveniles, child welfare and child welfare services

  • development of state plans by Administrator of Division.

1.

The Department, through the Division, is the sole state agency for the establishment of standards for the receipt of federal money in the field of:

(a)

Juvenile development and for programs to prevent, combat and control delinquency; and

(b)

Child welfare and child welfare services.
Ê The Department, through the Division, shall enforce such standards.

The Administrator, with the approval of the Director, may develop and enforce state plans, make reports to the Federal Government and comply with such other conditions as may be imposed by the Federal Government for the receipt of assistance for such programs and services described in subsection 1. In developing and revising state plans, the Administrator shall consider, among other things, the amount of money available from the Federal Government for such programs and services, the conditions attached to that money and the limitations of legislative appropriations for the programs and services.

The Administrator shall cause to be deposited with the State Treasurer all money allotted to this State by the Federal Government for the purposes described in this section and shall cause to be paid out of the State Treasury the money therein deposited for those purposes.

As used in this section, “child welfare services” has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 432B.044.
