Report concerning participation of ethnic and racial minorities, women and other protected classes in System

1.

The Board of Regents of the University of Nevada shall, not later than February 1 of each odd-numbered year, prepare and submit to the Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau for submission to the Legislature, a report concerning the participation of ethnic and racial minorities, women and other members of protected classes in the System. The report must cover each of the immediately preceding 2 academic years.

The Board shall make the report submitted pursuant to subsection 1 available to the general public, including publishing it on the website maintained by the System.

The report must include, but is not limited to:

(a)

The number of students divided by ethnic category;

(b)

The number of employees divided by ethnic category and occupational classification, as defined by the National Center for Education Statistics;

(c)

The number of students divided by gender;

(d)

The number of employees divided by gender and occupational classification, as defined by the National Center for Education Statistics;

(e)

Any information necessary to determine the impact of policy changes on the number of protected classes specified in subsection 1 who are enrolled at or employed by the System;

(f)

The efforts of each institution to increase the enrollment in underrepresented ethnic and racial categories through outreach programs and recruitment to maintain levels of minority enrollment comparable to the distribution of the population of the State; and

(g)

The efforts of each institution to retain and graduate students in underrepresented ethnic and racial categories through retention and other related programs.
