NRS 396.5305
Certain high school courses in computer science to meet certain prerequisites for college

  • approval of computer science course.

1.

If the Board of Regents adopts rules that require a student to successfully complete courses in mathematics or science before being admitted to an institution within the System, a student who has successfully completed one or more courses in computer science described in NRS 389.0186 must be allowed to apply not more than one unit of credit received for the completion of such courses toward a requirement to successfully complete a course in:

(a)

Science, if the student successfully completed two units of credit in science; or

(b)

Mathematics, if the student successfully completed three units of credit in mathematics and successfully completed Algebra II.

2.

The State Board shall approve a course in computer science for the purposes of paragraph (b) of subsection 1 if the State Board deems the mathematics component of the course to be sufficiently rigorous.
