Genetics program: Eligibility

  • determination of ability to pay.

1.

Any person residing in Nevada is eligible for services through the genetics program. A person must not be denied services through the genetics program because of his or her inability to pay for the services.

2.

A determination of ability to pay must be based on the following factors:

(a)

Resources of the person, including hospital and medical insurance;

(b)

Other available sources of payment, including any governmental aid for medically indigent persons;

(c)

Estimated cost of care;

(d)

Length of treatment;

(e)

Household size in relation to income; and

(f)

Debts and obligations.
