NRS 268.411
Waste of water may be prohibited.


The governing body of an incorporated city may prohibit by ordinance any waste of water within its jurisdiction. Any ordinance adopted under this section may:

1.

Classify the conditions under which specified kinds and amounts of consumption or expenditure of water are wasteful;

2.

Provide for reasonable notice of which of such conditions, if any, exist in the city;

3.

Allow any person, group of persons, partnership, corporation or other business or governmental entity which:

(a)

Furnishes water to persons within the city for business, manufacturing, agricultural or household use; and

(b)

Is not a public utility regulated by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada,
Ê to reduce or terminate water service to any customer or user who wastes water, according to reasonable standards adopted by the board; and

4.

Provide other appropriate penalties for violation of the ordinance which are based upon the classification adopted under subsection 1.
