Continuing education: Condition to renewal or reinstatement of certificate or license

  • regulations.

1.

An appraiser must complete the requirements for continuing education prescribed by regulations adopted by the Commission as a condition to the renewal of an active certificate or license or the reinstatement of an inactive certificate or license. Until the Commission adopts those regulations, the standards for continuing education are as follows:

(a)

For the renewal of an active certificate or license, not less than 30 hours of instruction within the 2 years immediately preceding the application for renewal.

(b)

For the reinstatement of a certificate or license which has been on inactive status, not less than 15 hours of instruction per year for each year that the certificate or license was on inactive status.
Ê The required hours of instruction must include the most recent edition of the 7-hour National Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice Update Course.

As used in this section, an “hour of instruction” means at least 50 minutes of actual time spent receiving instruction.
