Supervising osteopathic physicians: Right to refuse to act as supervising osteopathic physician

  • certain agreements void.

1.

An osteopathic physician may at any time refuse to act as a supervising osteopathic physician for a physician assistant.

2.

A condition, stipulation or provision in a contract or other agreement which:

(a)

Requires an osteopathic physician to act as a supervising osteopathic physician for a physician assistant;

(b)

Penalizes an osteopathic physician for refusing to act as a supervising osteopathic physician for a physician assistant; or

(c)

Limits a supervising osteopathic physician’s authority with regard to any protocol, standing order or delegation of authority applicable to a physician assistant supervised by the osteopathic physician,
Ê is against public policy and is void.
