NRS 630.2615
Authorized facility license to practice medicine in institution of Department of Corrections.
1.
Except as otherwise provided in NRS 630.161, the Board may issue an authorized facility license to a person who intends to practice medicine in this State as a physician in an institution of the Department of Corrections under the direct supervision of a physician who holds an unrestricted license to practice medicine pursuant to this chapter or to practice osteopathic medicine pursuant to chapter 633 of NRS.2.
A person who applies for an authorized facility license pursuant to this section is not required to take or pass a written examination as to his or her qualifications to practice medicine pursuant to paragraph (b) of subsection 2 of NRS 630.160, but the person must meet all other conditions and requirements for an unrestricted license to practice medicine pursuant to this chapter.3.
If the Board issues an authorized facility license pursuant to this section, the person who holds the license may practice medicine in this State only as a physician in an institution of the Department of Corrections and only under the direct supervision of a physician who holds an unrestricted license to practice medicine pursuant to this chapter or to practice osteopathic medicine pursuant to chapter 633 of NRS.4.
If a person who holds an authorized facility license issued pursuant to this section ceases to practice medicine in this State as a physician in an institution of the Department of Corrections:(a)
The Department shall notify the Board; and(b)
Upon receipt of the notification, the authorized facility license expires automatically.5.
The Board may renew or modify an authorized facility license issued pursuant to this section, unless the license has expired automatically or has been revoked.6.
The provisions of this section do not limit the authority of the Board to issue a license to an applicant in accordance with any other provision of this chapter.
