Unlawful acts.


It is unlawful for any seller:

1.

To fail to inform any buyer orally, at the time the buyer signs any door-to-door sale contract or purchases any consumer goods or services as a result of a door-to-door sale, of the buyer’s right to cancel the contract or to misrepresent in any manner said buyer’s right to cancel;

2.

To fail or refuse to honor any valid notice of cancellation by a buyer;

3.

To fail or refuse to return, within 10 business days after receiving notice of cancellation, any goods or property traded in, in substantially as good condition as when received;

4.

To fail or refuse to refund all payments made under the contract or sale within 10 business days after receiving notice of cancellation;

5.

To fail to notify a buyer within 10 business days after the receipt of a buyer’s notice of cancellation whether the seller intends to repossess or to abandon any shipped or delivered goods; or

6.

To negotiate, transfer, sell or assign any note or other evidence of indebtedness to a finance company or other third party prior to midnight of the 5th business day following the day the contract was signed or the goods or services were purchased.
