NRS 453A.500
Professional licensing board prohibited from taking disciplinary action against attending provider of health care on basis of provider’s participation in certain activities in accordance with chapter.

The applicable professional licensing boards shall not take any disciplinary action against an attending provider of health care on the basis that the attending provider of health care:

1.

Regardless of whether the person is a resident of this State, advised a person whom the attending provider of health care has diagnosed as having a chronic or debilitating medical condition, or a person whom the attending provider of health care knows has been so diagnosed by another provider of health care licensed or certified pursuant to the law of this State:

(a)

About the possible risks and benefits of the medical use of marijuana; or

(b)

That the medical use of marijuana may mitigate the symptoms or effects of the person’s chronic or debilitating medical condition,
Ê if the advice is based on the attending provider of health care’s personal assessment of the person’s medical history and current medical condition.

Provided or maintained the written documentation or signature, as applicable, required pursuant to paragraph (a) of subsection 2 of NRS 453A.210 for the issuance of a registry identification card or letter of approval or pursuant to subparagraph (1) of paragraph (b) of subsection 1 of NRS 453A.230 for the renewal of a registry identification card or letter of approval, or any similar documentation required for the person to be authorized to engage in the medical use of marijuana pursuant to the laws of another state or jurisdiction, if:

(a)

Such documentation is based on the attending provider of health care’s personal assessment of the person’s medical history and current medical condition; and

(b)

The attending provider of health care has advised the person about the possible risks and benefits of the medical use of marijuana.
