Foundation for hospital nursing practice: Establishment

The major hospitals shall jointly establish a foundation for hospital nursing practice to promote and encourage the practice of nursing in hospitals.


The foundation must be created as a nonprofit entity in compliance with 26 U.S.C. § 501. The governing body of the foundation must consist of one representative of each of the member hospitals and one representative appointed by the Governor. The governing body must have authority to establish rules for the administration of the foundation, to establish programs in pursuit of its purpose, and to allocate money for its programs.


If the foundation is not formed, or ceases to exist, the Director shall establish a nonprofit entity to carry out the foundation’s purpose.
