Salaries of trustees

  • donation of salary

1.

Each member of the board of trustees of a school district in a county whose population is less than 20,000 must receive a salary of $250 per month.

2.

Each member of the board of trustees of a school district in a county whose population is 20,000 or more but less than 100,000 must receive a salary of $400 per month.

3.

Each member of the board of trustees of a school district in a county whose population is 100,000 or more must receive a salary of $750 per month.

4.

A member of the board of trustees of a school district who receives a salary pursuant to this section may:

(a)

Donate all or a part of the monthly salary that he or she receives to a school within the school district or to the school district; or

(b)

In lieu of making a donation after the member receives the salary, request that all or a part of his or her monthly salary be paid directly to a school within the school district or to the school district.

5.

The board of trustees may hire a stenographer to take the minutes of the meetings of the board of trustees, and the stenographer may be paid a reasonable fee for each meeting attended.
