Consent to acquisition of lands to facilitate administration of national forest affairs (1937).


1.

The consent of the State of Nevada is hereby given, in accordance with Clause 17 of Section 8 of Article I of the Constitution of the United States, to the acquisition by the United States of the following-described land in White Pine County, Nevada, desired to facilitate the administration of the Nevada national forest affairs:

(a)

In T. 14 N., R. 58 E., M.D.B. & M., the SW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of section 27, the SW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of section 28, the N 1/2 of the NE 1/4 and the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of section 34; and the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4, the SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 and the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of section 35.

(b)

In T. 15 N., R. 58 E., M.D.B. & M., the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 and the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of section 3, the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of section 10, the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of section 11, the SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of section 12, the S 1/2 of the NE 1/4 and the E 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of section 24, and the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 and the E 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of section 36.

The State of Nevada hereby reserves the right to tax persons and corporations and their property situate on the described lands pursuant to its tax and revenue laws; and the state hereby retains its civil and criminal jurisdiction over all persons within or who may come within any lands, except as to offenses against the United States, and all such persons shall retain all their rights and privileges and perform their duties as citizens and inhabitants of the state according to its laws.
