Procedure for registration of electors in incorporated cities

  • preparation of rosters.

1.

Except as otherwise provided by special charter, registration of electors in incorporated cities must be accomplished in the manner provided in this chapter.

2.

The county clerk shall use the statewide voter registration list to prepare for the city clerk of each incorporated city within the county the roster of all electors eligible to vote at a regular or special city election.

3.

The rosters must be prepared, one for each ward or other voting district within each incorporated city. The entries in the roster must be arranged alphabetically with the surnames first.

4.

The county clerk shall keep duplicate originals or copies of the applications to register to vote in the county clerk’s office.
