Appointment and number of officers on absent ballot central counting board; appointment of law enforcement officers; absent ballot central counting board under direction of city clerk.


1.

An absent ballot central counting board consists of election board officers appointed in such numbers as the city clerk determines to be required by the volume of absent ballots requested.

2.

The city clerk’s deputies who perform duties in connection with elections shall be deemed officers of the absent ballot central counting board.

3.

When requested by the city clerk, the chief law enforcement officer of the city shall appoint an officer to keep order during the counting of the absent ballot votes by the absent ballot central counting board.

4.

The absent ballot central counting board is under the direction of the city clerk.
