Treason against the people of the State consists in:
(a)
Levying war against the people of the State;
(b)
Adhering to its enemies; or
(c)
Giving them aid and comfort.
2.
Treason is a category B felony and is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for a minimum term of not less than 2 years and a maximum term of not more than 10 years.
3.
A person must not be convicted for treason unless upon the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act or by confession in open court.
The legislature occasionally skips outline levels.
For example:
(3) A person may apply [...]
(4)(a) A person petitioning for relief [...]
In this example, (3), (4),
and (4)(a) are all outline levels, but
(4) was
omitted by its authors. It's only implied. This presents an
interesting challenge when laying out the text. We've
decided to display a blank section with this note, in order
to aide readability.
