When an act is required or allowed to be done at or within a specified time, the court for cause shown may at any time in its discretion:
1.
With or without motion or notice, order the period enlarged if request therefor is made before the expiration of the period originally prescribed or as extended by a previous order; or
2.
Upon motion made after the expiration of the specified period permit the act to be done if the failure to act was the result of excusable neglect,Ê but the court may not extend the time for taking any action under NRS 176.515 or 176.525 except to the extent and under the conditions stated in those sections.
The legislature occasionally skips outline levels.
For example:
(3) A person may apply [...]
(4)(a) A person petitioning for relief [...]
In this example, (3), (4),
and (4)(a) are all outline levels, but
(4) was
omitted by its authors. It's only implied. This presents an
interesting challenge when laying out the text. We've
decided to display a blank section with this note, in order
to aide readability.
